About the Artist

Suzy Perkins is a self-taught artist.  She renders her paintings in meticulous detail while constantly trying new techniques.

Suzy's love of travel started when she was a flight attendant and had the opportunity to visit many countries.  Her camera was always at the ready and continues to be an extension of her style.  After many years stationed on the west cost, she returned to the Kansas City area where she took up her love of painting as a full time occupation.  Suzy works from her own photographs.  She takes numerous pictures until the perfect one is captured for her work.  She seeks to depict interesting architectural windows and doors.

Suzy has exhibited at the Ward Parkway Art show, Metro North and South art shows and Westport art show.  Her paintings were also requested to hang in the foyer of the Commerce Bank.

She is currently a member of the Images Art Gallery in the Crossroads area which is the up and coming "new-place-to-be" in the Kansas City art community.  Suzy's goal is to enhance peoples' lives through her art.  On a recent trip to Ireland, Suzy fell in love with the many unusual windows and doorways, which have captured her interest.

Suzy recently had a show for all her paintings at the Irene B. French Community Center Gallery.

She won an award at the GKCAA Art in Motion, 2005

She won 3rd place in oils at the Mid Winter Art Fair, 2007
