NEACC Northeast Animal Control Commission

Fairway – Mission – Mission Woods – Roeland Park – Westwood – Westwood Hills

The Northeast Animal Control Commission (NEACC) is seeking to hire a full time animal control officer. Experience is preferred but not required; full training will be provided. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary plus a rich benefit package, including paid holidays, vacation, a 401k plan, and KPERS retirement plan. The officer will be responsible for patrolling six cities in Northeast Johnson County Kansas and enforcing animal regulations and ordinances, responding to complaints, apprehending and impounding animals, writing reports, issuing summons, and testifying in court. The position requires shift work, mostly evenings and Saturdays.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, clean background with no felony convictions, and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of application. A thorough background check will be conducted. Good verbal and written communications skills are needed, as frequent contact with the public is necessary.

NEACC serves a population of about 23,000 in the cities of Fairway, Mission, Mission Woods, Roeland Park, Westwood, and Westwood Hills, located in the heart of the Kansas City Area. It is a municipal government agency headquartered at the Mission Police Department.
