Business Licensing

Roeland Park requires any business operating within the city limits to obtain a business license - even if that business is already licensed in another municipality.

We require all businesses located within the City to obtain a business Occupation License.

 

Examples include:

  • Home Day Cares

  • Businesses operated out of the home (Home Occupations)

  • Administrative/Retail Businesses.

  • Drinking establishments

  • Liquor stores

  • Businesses selling cereal malt beverages

  • Arborist/Pesticide Companies

  • Security Companies

  • Solid Waste Providers

  • Contractors doing work within the City that requires a building permit

  • Contractors or utility companies performing work in the City Rights-of-Way

Residential Landlords (single & multi-family)
Landlords who own residential property in the City and receive rental income must obtain a Rental License from the City.
