The City of Roeland Park is chartered under Kansas statute as a City of the Second Class, and it operates as a Mayor/Council/ Administrator form of government. The governing body is responsible for the enactment of local laws, the adoption of the annual City Budget and Capital Improvement Program, and the review and adoption of proposed policies, agreements, contracts and other City business items with the assistance of various departments, agencies and committees.

The City of Roeland Park has available information on voter registration.
