Jennifer Gunby was elected to the Council to represent Ward II in April 2011

Councilmember Gunby is an engineer and leader of the Energy Studio at GBA Architects + Engineers.  Ms. Gunby graduated with honors from the University of Kansas with a BS in civil engineering and a BA in business administration.  She is a registered engineer (PE-KS) and a LEED Accredited Professional.  In addition to serving on the City Council and as Co-Chair of the Public Works Committee, she is active on the Sustainability Committee and lead the 2012 Residential Retrofit project in partnership with Historic Green.  She serves on the University of Kansas’s School of Engineering Recent Graduate Advisory Board, is a Mid-America Regional Council Sustainable Communities Leader and is an acting member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and American Public Works Association (APWA).

Ms. Gunby first moved to Roeland Park as a young child in 1983.  She has been active in the City including serving on the 2007 Roeland Park Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and as chair of the Sustainability Committee.
