Untitled #4 is part of a series of 6 experiments in

casting concrete in a new way.  So far this is the

largest of the series.

 

Bio

Sculpture is relatively new to me. This is my third year in sculpture and I’m still trying to figure it all out. I have worked primarily in concrete, steel, and cast metals. My approach to art is to find new ways of making through invention while learning the limits of a material.  This last year has been a venture in experimental concrete casting which I have plans to continue into my senior year at the Kansas City Art Institute.

 Before attending the Art Institute, I worked with black and white photography for three years. It wasn’t until a summer program at SACI in Florence did I find that I wanted to make sculpture. I have plans to stay in Kansas City for a while after graduate and continue sculpting.
